ALAB KARBAWAN Updates Jan 2020 CaraBalitaan ALAB KARBAWAN By Chrissalyn Marcelo & PAUL ANDREW TEXON Kabi-kabilang pakikipagtulungan, pagsasanay sa magsasaka, pamamahagi ng kalabaw, at pagbubukas ng milk processing plant at marketing outlet sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa ang tuluy-tuloy na isinasagawa ng Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) sa ilalim ng proyekto nitong ALAB-Karbawan na sinimulan nitong isagawa noong 2019. Notice: Undefined variable: imgDesc in C:\laragon\www\post.php on line 114 Ayon sa DA-PCC, ang salitang “ALAB” sa ALAB-Karbawan ay isang acronymn na ang ibig sabihin ay Accelerating Livelihood and Assets Buildup samantalang ang salitang “Karbawan” naman ay salitang mula sa Visayas at Mindanao na ang ibig sabihin ay “pagkakalabawan”. Layon ng proyektong ito na magkaroon ng Carabao-based Business Improvement Network (CBIN) sa 17 sites o lugar na matatagpuan sa 16 na probinsiya sa Pilipinas at inisponsoran ni Sen. Cynthia Villar. Nabuong kolaborasyon o PAKIKIPAGTULUNGAN sa mga kooperatiba at LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITs (LGUs) Mula sa 17 kooperatiba at 17 na LGUs na target ng proyekto, 16 na kooperatiba at 16 na LGUs na ang naging partners ng DA-PCC. PAMILYANG NAGING KASANGKOT SA PROYEKTO Mula sa 340 pamilya na target ng proyekto, mayroon nang 180 pamilya ang naitalang naging kasangkot sa ALAB-Karbawan. Sa bilang na ito, 99 na magsasakang miyembro ng pamilya naman ang naitalang nabigyan na ng pagsasanay sa pag-aalaga at paggagatas ng kalabaw. NAIPAMAHAGING KALABAW Mula sa 850 kalabaw na target na maipamahagi sa ilalim ng proyekto, mayroon nang 395 kalabaw ang naipamahagi sa mga benepisyaryo. Maliban dito, nakapagpamahagi rin ng 93 kalabaw ang DA-PCC sa mga kliyente nito. Mayroon na rin na dalawang processing plant at tatlong market outlets ang naitindig sa ilalim ng proyekto. Ang mga ito ay matatagpuan sa Bataan, Pangasinan, at Albay. Maliban dito, inaasahan din na sa 3rd quarter ng 2020, magkakaroon ng 212,303 na mga bata na magiging benepisyaryo ng milk feeding program at Php249,738,563 na halagang kikitain sa gatas ng kalabaw. Ilan pa sa target ng proyekto ay ang pagkakaroon ng 82,733kg na produksiyon ng gatas sa 4th quarter ng 2020, kita mula sa gatas na aabot sa Php4M (raw milk) at Php12M (value-added), pagkakaroon ng 17 qualified suppliers para sa milk feeding program at may 100 na kababaihan na magnenegosyo sa gatas ng kalabaw.
