Proyektong PH-sokor para sa pagpapaunlad ng Dairy Sector Mar 2020 Karbaw PH-sokor, Dairy sector By Chrissalyn Marcelo Sinimulan kamakailan ng Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at Hankyong National University (HKNU) ang pagtutulungan para sa proyektong, “Improving Income Generation of Farmers through the Enhancement of the Value Chain Capacity from Milk Production to Sales”. Proyektong PH-sokor Ayon kay Dr. In-Sik Nam, tagapangasiwa ng proyekto, layon ng pagtutulungan na makamit ang mga sumusunod: (1) mapabuti ang produksiyon ng mga gatasang kalabaw at kalidad ng mga produkto mula sa gatas nito, (2) makagamit ng magandang teknolohiya sa paggagatas, (3) mapagbuti ang teknolohiya sa malinis at ligtas na pamamaraan ng pagpoproseso ng gatas, (4) mapalakas ang kakayahan ng dairy value chain, at (5) mabigyan ng iba’t ibang pagsasanay ang mga magsasaka para mapaangat ang antas ng kanilang pamumuhay. Ayon naman kay EunGyeom Ahn, lider ng Public Relations (PR) and Information Technology (IT) ng proyekto, 20 na maggagatas ang magiging benepisyaryo ng proyekto. “Hinati din namin sa apat na pangkat ang aming grupo para maisagawa ng maayos ang proyektong ito. Ang mga pangkat na ito ay ang mga grupo na tututok sa dairy production, milk processing, milk hygiene and safety, at PR at IT,” ani EunGyeom Ahn sa wikang Ingles. Binubuo ng 14 Korean volunteers at isang field manager ang grupo ng KOICA. Ayon naman kay Dr. Arnel Del Barrio, executive director ng PCC, manggagaling sa ahensiya ang mga suportang katulad ng pagbabahagi ng mga datos sa dairy production at management, paglalaan ng opisina para sa mga KOICA volunteers, at pagtatalaga ng mga kaagapay sa mga volunteers. “Ang proyektong ito ay sumusuporta sa ikauunlad ng national dairy program at nakahanay sa mithiin ng DA na mapataas ang ani at kita ng mga magsasaka,” ani Dr. Del Barrio. Ang proyekto ay tatagal ng 18 buwan.
