Samahan ng mga Cotabateñong magkakalabaw, pinarangalan Nov 2023 CaraBalitaan CADAFA By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez DA-PCC sa USM-Nasungkit ng Canahay Dairy Farmers Association (CADAFA) ng Surallah, South Cotabato ang 2023 Outstanding South Cotabateño – Group Category kasabay ng pagdaraos ng 24th T’nalak Festival at 57th Founding Anniversary ng South Cotabato. CADAFA Malugod na tinanggap ni CADAFA President Emilita Cabino ang prestihiyosong parangal na kumikilala sa kanilang naging ambag sa paglago ng kanilang kumunidad, pagbibigay inspirasyon sa kapwa nila South Cotabateños, at pagtaas ng bandera ng probinsya ng South Cotabato sa buong Pilipinas. “Maliban sa tulong ng ahensya ng gobyerno, hindi namin nakamit ang award na ito kung wala ang pagkakaisa ng bawa’t miyembro ng CADAFA. Ang pagsisikap at mga karangalang nakamit ng bawa’t miyembro ang naging daan upang masungkit namin ang award at maging namumukod-tanging asosasyon sa South Cotabato,” wika ni Cabino. Ang CADAFA ay isa sa mga inaasistahang asosasyon ng DA-Philippine Carabao Center sa University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC sa USM). “Sa mga nagdaang mga taon, napatunayan na ng CADAFA ang kanilang galing at husay. Samut-saring mga parangal ang kanilang natanggap dahil sa kanilang maganda at angkop na pamamaraan ng pag-aalaga ng gatasang kalabaw. Wala itong mga awards na ito kung wala ang taos-pusong pagtanggap ng mga magsasaka sa programang pagkakalabawan,” ani DA-PCC sa USM CBED Coordinator Nasrola S. Ibrahim. Matatandaang humakot ng parangal ang mga miyembro ng CADAFA noong 8th National Carabao Conference ng DA-PCC tulad ng OUTSTANDING DAIRY BUFFALO FARMER FAMILY MODULE Champion, Joselino C. Cabino; BEST DAIRY BUFFALO COW (SENIOR CARACOW CATEGORY) 1st Runner Up, Melgin M. Zenith; BEST DAIRY BUFFALO COW (JUNIOR CARACOW CATEGORY) 2nd Runner Up, Rodel B. Estañol; at OUTSTANDING VILLAGE-BASED AI TECHNICIAN, 2nd Runner Up Reyjohn R. Estañol. Samantala, nagpapasalamat naman si DA-PCC sa USM Center Director Benjamin John C. Basilio sa provincial government ng South Cotabato sa pagkilala sa dedikasyon at tagumpay ng CADAFA sa larangan ng pagkakalabawan. “Ang mga parangal at pagkilalang ito ay bunga ng pagsisikap ng DA-PCC, Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Offices, Municipal Agriculture Office, pamahalaang lokal ng Surallah, at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno na nagsisilbi para sa magsasakang Pilipino,” ani Basilio. Sa kasalukuyan, ang CADAFA ay nagsisilbing supplier ng raw buffalo’s milk para sa mga kooperatibang lumalahok sa national milk feeding program sa ilalim ng R.A. 11037 o Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act. Dagdag pa rito, sa tulong ng LGU-Surallah, tumatayog pa ang hangarin ng CADAFA sa mas malawak na oportunidad sa mga susunod na araw matapos ang pagsisimula ng kanilang hakbang sa pagatataguyod ng kooperatiba na tatawaging Surallah Integrated Dairy Farmers Cooperative.
