Pagsasanay para sa mga bagong magkakalabaw Apr 2021 CaraBalitaan Philippine Carabao Center, Department of Agriculture By Charlene Corpuz DA-PCCNHQGP— Patuloy sa layuning pagpapalago ng kaalaman at kabuhayan ang hatid ng DA-PCC sa mga magsasaka na nais lumahok sa proyekto nitong 25-dairy cow module. Ang SPT ay isa sa mga pangunahing aktibidad na dapat lahukan ng mga magsasaka na nais makapag may-ari ng mga gatasang kalabaw. Isinagawa ang pagsasanay tungkol sa Social Preparation Training (SPT) o Panlipunang Paghahanda nitong Marso 11-12, 2021 sa munisipyo ng Gabaldon na nilahukan ng 20 magsasaka mula sa iba’t ibang mga kooperatiba ng nasabing bayan. Ang pagsasanay na ito ay isa sa mga pangunahing aktibidad na dapat lahukan ng mga magsasaka na nais makapag may-ari ng mga gatasang kalabaw. Pinangunahan ang aktibidad ng DA-PCC Knowledge Management Division - Learning Events Coordination Section (LECS), National Impact Zone (NIZ) team, at Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Gabaldon. Bagama’t ang pangunahing ikinabubuhay ng mga kooperatiba sa lugar ay nasa pagtatanim ng mga gulay at palay, nakita nila ang malaking kapakinabangan ng kalabaw bilang pandagdag-kita lalo sa panahon kung saan tapos nang umani ng gulay o palay. Naging sentro sa pagsasanay ang mga kaalaman tungkol sa mga pakain. Ibinahagi naman ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Gabaldon ang pagkakaroon nila ng laan na pondo para sa pagbili ng mga karagdagan pang gatasang kalabaw na higit pang nagbigay ng kasabikan sa mga kalahok. Bawa’t kalahok ay sasailalim sa selection process na isasagawa ng NIZ team. Kabilang sa proseso ang pagsasagawa ng orientation, background investigation, farm ocular inspection, technical training on basic buffalo management, final evaluation at field validation bago ganap na maipagkatiwala ang mga gatasang kalabaw.
