New Dairy Safety Officers set to boost safety compliance along dairy value chain

Newly trained Dairy Safety Officers are poised to make their contributions in improving compliance with safety standards throughout the dairy value chain after participating in a two-day training conducted by the DA-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) in partnership with the DA-National Dairy Authority (DA-NDA) on May 13-14, 2025.

Held at the DA-PCC’s national headquarters in the Science City, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, the training brought together employees from DA-PCC regional centers for intensive learning sessions on milk safety regulations, hazard identification, hygiene and sanitation practice, quality assurance, and auditing compliance.

The training prepared participants to be able to act as Dairy Safety Officers, ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines from farm to milk collection.

The training program aimed to complement the country's efforts towards enhancing food safety and the number of dairy farmers securing the NDA License to Operate (LTO), a mandatory requirement for all dairy farm enterprises.

NDA resource speakers facilitated the activity, which allowed trainees to learn and gain the know-how and skills to advocate food safety and compliance on dairy farms.
