Climate change at kaugnayan nito sa industriya ng paghahayupan, tampok sa 6th ILBS Feb 2022 CaraBalitaan Climate change By Marah Arquero DA-PCC NHQGP-Upang matugunan ang limitasyon na naidulot ng COVID-19, na naghadlang sa maraming tao na dumalo sa harapang mga seminar at pagsasanay, ang Department of Agriculture – Livestock Biotechnology Center, kasama ang DAPhilippine Carabao Center at DA- Biotechnology Program Offi ce, ay nagdaos ng 6th International Livestock Biotechnology Symposium noong Pebrero 22 sa pamamagitan ng virtual meeting platform na dinaluhan ng mahigit 200 lokal at internasyonal na kalahok. Climate change at kaugnayan nito sa industriya ng paghahayupan, tampok sa 6th ILBS Pinagsasama-sama ang dalawang paksa na bihirang talakayin nang magkasama sa mga siyentipikong dialogue at fora, ang symposium ay naglalayong magbigay ng kamalayan, kaalaman, at pag-unawa sa mga proseso na umiikot sa sektor ng paghahayupan kabilang ang mga epekto nito sa kapaligiran. Tinalakay ng mga lokal at internasyonal na eksperto ang mga paksa mula sa gene editing, climate change, pagpapababa sa methane emission ng lactating cows hanggang sa mga transgenic na teknolohiya para sa pag-aangkop ng mga hayop sa mas mainit na klima alinsunod sa tema ngayong taon, "Research and Innovations Promoting Positive and Synergistic Relationship Between the Livestock Industriya and climate change”. Binigyang-diin ng symposium ang pangangailangan ng sektor ng agrikultura, na muling i-calibrate ang mga estratehiya sa pagkamit ng seguridad sa pagkain samantalang sinisiguro ang proteksyon ng kapaligiran. Tampok sa mga natalakay kung paano maaaring pagaanin ng biotechnology ang livestock production sa pabagu-bagong klima. Kabilang sa mga resource persons ang Climate Change Commission Consultant, Dr. Leoncio A. Amadore, Animal Genomics and Biotechnology Proff esor at University of California – Davis, Dr. Alison L.
