Notice: Undefined variable: imgDesc in C:\laragon\www\post.php on line 114 Ang nasabing FLS-DBP ay isinagawa sa pagtutulungan ng PCC sa Central Mindanao University (PCC@CMU) at lokal na pamahalaan ng Don Carlos. “Binibigyan ng FLS-DBP ang mga magsasaka ng mga pamimilian o opsyong teknolohiya na maaring gamitin upang mapagbuti ang pag-aalaga ng gatasang kalabaw at negosyong salig dito,” ani Rovelyn Jacang, Science Research Specialist I ng PCC Knowledge Management Division (KMD). Nagsimula ang FLS-DBP sa Don Carlos noong Ika-8 ng Agosto nang nakaraang taon. Tumagal ito ng 34 linggo at isinagawa isang beses kada linggo. Ang mga nagsipagtapos ay mula sa mga barangay ng San Francisco, New Visayas, at Kalubihon sa bayan ng Don Carlos. Ayon kay Jacang, ang tunay na pagsasanay ng mga magsasaka ay magsisimula pa lamang kapag gagamitin na nila ang natutunan mula sa FLS-DBP. Samantala, binigyang-diin naman ni Dr. Lowell Paraguas, center director ng PCC@CMU, ang kahalagahan ng inisyatiba kaugnay ng implementasyon ng RA 11037 o “Masustansiyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act”. Sa ilalim ng batas, ang pagpapainom ng gatas ay bahagi ng isinusulong na national feeding program. “Aming tinatawagan ang mga maggagatas upang harapin ang hamon sa pagtugon sa malaking pangangailangan sa gatas na hatid ng batas,” paghihimok ni Dr. Paraguas. Limang magsasaka ang binigyan ng medalya bilang pagkilala sa kanilang ipinamalas na husay sa FLS-DBP. Ang mga naparangalan ay sina Lauren Aurita, Lourdes Decipolo, Bernalda Aurita, Fredie Janiola, at Nida Abellanosa. Isinagawa ang FLS-DBP sa Don Carlos bilang isa sa mga inisyatiba sa “Karbawan” o sa ”Communication for Development Campaign” ng KMD. Layunin ng Karbawan na mapalakas at mapalaganap pa ang Carabao Development Program sa Visayas at Mindanao. Kaugnay ng Karbawan, bukod sa Don Carlos, Bukidnon, 44 kasapi ng Polanco Carabao Breeders and Raisers Association naman ang nagsipagtapos sa FLS-DBP noong Pebrero sa Zamboanga del Norte. Habang noong Disyembre ng nakaraang taon, 25 kasapi ng Ipil Carabao Farmers Association ang nakatapos sa Zamboanga Sibugay. Ang dalawang FLS-DBP ay sa pagtutulungan ng PCC sa Mindanao Livestock Production Center at mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Polanco at Ipil. Ang iba pang target sites ng Karbawan ay Sapian, Capiz; Leon, Iloilo; at Sto. Niño, South Cotabato.
