Ang pagsasanay ay naglalayong paigtingin ang wastong pamamahala ng mga bulugan, kasama na ang tungkulin, kasanayan, at record keeping para matiyak ang mas mahusay na pag-aalaga ng mga kalabaw, pagpaparami ng hayop at maitaas ang produktibidad ng industriya sa pagkakalabawan. “Importante ang patuloy na pag-sasagawa ng ganitong pagsasanay sa mga dati at bagong tagapag-alaga ng mga bulugan upang patuloy na mahasa ang kakayahan ng mga magkakalabaw at maitaas ang paglago ng pagkakalabawan sa ating service area,” ani Dr. Mac Erwin Perez, center veterinarian at bull entrustment coordinator ng DA-PCC sa DMMMSU. “Nadagdagan na naman ang aking kaalaman tungkol sa pag-aalaga ng kalabaw lalo na sa mga sakit upang madali itong malunasan at nang maiwasan ang pagkamatay,” ani ni Ruben Tejano, isa sa mga nag-aalaga ng bulugan. Ang Bull Entrustment ay isang loan-out program ng DA-PCC para sa purong lahi ng bulugan na ginagamit sa natural na pagpapalahi ng mga kalabaw. Mainam ang natural mating upang mapabilis ang pagtukoy sa naglalanding kalabaw at mapataas ang conception rate. “Sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalahi gamit ang purong bulugan, tataas ang produksyon ng gatas ng babaeng kalabaw samantalang pwede namang gawing bulugan kung lalaki ang anak nito,” ayon naman ito kay Julius Lasundin, ang pinakabatang bull handler sa ginanap na pagsasanay.
