Pagpapaigting ng kabuhayang paggagatasan sa Rehiyon 02 Mar 2019 CaraBalitaan PCC@CSU,paggagatasan By AILEEN BULUSAN Nagtipon ang mga maggagatas sa Rehiyon 02 noong Mayo 9-10 sa Southern Cagayan Research Station upang pag-ibayuhin ang pagpaplano para sa pagpapalakas ng industiya ng paggagatasan sa nasabing rehiyon. Notice: Undefined variable: imgDesc in C:\laragon\www\post.php on line 114 Ang programa ay pinangunahan ng apat na malalaking ahensiya ng pamahalaan na kinabibilangan ng Department of Agriculture 02 (DA-02), National Dairy Authority 02 (NDA-02), Philippine Carabao Center sa Cagayan State University (PCC@CSU) at ng Department of Trade and Industry 02 (DTI-02) kasama ang Cagayan Valley Federation of Dairy Cooperatives (CAVAFEDCO) na siyang kumakatawan sa 10 kooperatiba ng maggagatas sa rehiyon 02. Sa unang araw, tinalakay ni G. Florencio D. Marcial, chief operation ng Northern Luzon Cluster ng NDA, ang kalagayan ng industriya ng paggagatas sa Pilipinas, mga problema, at plano ng pamahalaan. Si Prof. Franklin T. Rellin, center director ng PCC@CSU naman ang nagbigay ng ulat ukol sa industriya ng mga gatasang kalabaw at gatasang baka sa Rehiyon 02 pati na ang mga problema at balakid na kaugnay nito. Ibinahagi ni Bb. Zenaida M. Quinto, senior trade industry development specialist ng DTI ang Dairy Cluster Plan Implementation Updates. Inilahad niya ang mga nagawa ng kanilang ahensiya sa pagtulong upang lalo pang mapaganda ang industriya ng paggagatas sa rehiyon 02. Samantala, nagkaroon naman ng pagkakataon ang CAVAFEDCO na magsagawa ng pagpupulong para sa pagbuo ng working committees para sa Election, Education at Livelihood nito. Tinalakay din sa pagpupulong ang preparasyon ng pederasiyon para sa nalalapit na ika-anim na Dairy Business Conference sa Disyembre. Isang eleksiyon din ang isinagawa para sa mga bagong opisyal ng taong 2019-2021. Sa unang araw ay tinalakay din ni Dr. Christine V. Mamauag, Veterinarian III ng DA 02, ang tungkol sa Animal Welfare Act of 1998, Animal Welfare Registration Procedure, at Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Sinegundahan naman ito ni Gng. Luzviminda C. Mecate, Agriculturist II ng parehong ahensiya sa pagtalakay niya ng Good Animal Husbandry Practices Certification Program at Application Procedure. Sa pangalawang araw, ibinahagi ni Dr. Aileen L. Bulusan, science research analyst ng PCC@CSU ang “Updates on Mortalities on Dairy Buffaloes in Region 02 and Recommendations”. Binigyang-diin niya sa talakayan ang tungkol sa mga maaaring isagawa bilang paunang lunas sa iba’t ibang klase ng sakit. Nagbahagi rin ng kaalaman si G. Maximo B. Wandagan, Science Research Specialist I ng nasabi ring ahensiya, tungkol sa “Forage Production and Farm By-Products Utilization”. Tinalakay naman ni Prof. Rellin, ang makabagong teknolohiya na tinatawag na “Fixed time artificial insemination” na isinasagawa ng PCC para lalo pang mapataas ang bilang ng mga mabubuntis na kalabaw at upang maparami ang produksiyon ng gatas sa kanayunan.
