PCC@DMMMSU nagpamahagi ng mga gatasang kalabaw sa asosasyon ng maggagatas Sep 2019 CaraBalitaan PCC@DMMMSU,gatasang ,kalabaw ,maggagatas,Agoo Dairy Raisers and Farmers Association,ADRFA By Ma. Cecilia Irang Nagkaloob ng 12 gatasang kalabaw sa Agoo Dairy Raisers and Farmers Association (ADRFA) ang PCC sa Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (PCC@DMMMSU) noong Oktubre 15, bilang bahagi ng “paiwi program” nito. PCC@DMMMSU nagpamahagi ng mga gatasang kalabaw sa asosasyon ng maggagatas Sa isang awarding ceremony na ginanap sa Agoo Civic Center, Agoo, La Union, naging posible ang aktibidad sa pakikipagtulungan sa PCC ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Agoo, La Union at pangunguna ni Congresswoman Sandra Eriguel. Ayon kay PCC@DMMMSU Center Director Gloria Dela Cruz, noong 2018 ay nakita ni Cong. Eriguel ang potensiyal ng programa at proyekto sa paggagatasan kaya naman pormal siyang humiling sa tanggapan ng PCC na kung maaari ay maasistehan siya na magkaroon ng proyektong gaya nito para makatulong sa mga mamamayan sa lugar na kanyang nasasakupan. Bilang tugon ay naglaan ng Php1 milyong pondo ang PCC para sa pagbili ng mga gatasang kalabaw na ipagkakaloob sa mga magsasaka sa barangay Nazareno, Agoo, La Union. Sinabi rin ni Dir. Dela Cruz na nauna na silang nagkaloob ng limang kalabaw sa nasabing asosasyon noong Disyembre 2018. Nasa kabuuang 17 kalabaw ang bilang ng mga kalabaw na naibahagi sa mga magsasaka. Sa tulong ng mga village-based artificial insemination technicians, na inaasistehan ng PCC@DMMMSU, nakahanap at nakabili, aniya, ang PCC ng mga magagandang kalabaw na pag-aari ng mga magsasaka. Ang mga gatasang kalabaw na nabili at ipinagkaloob sa mga magsasaka ay mga crossbreds (75%-85%) na ang edad ay nasa 2 ½ taon hanggang apat na taong gulang. Sinabi naman ni PCC Executive Director Dr. Arnel del Barrio sa kanyang mensahe na ang mga gatasang kalabaw na ipinamahagi ay bilang paghahanda para sa national feeding program kung saan kakailanganin ang supply ng gatas at bilang suporta na rin sa layunin ng Department of Agriculture na masaganang ani at mataas na kita para sa mga magsasaka. Sa kasalukuyan, mayroon nang nagpoprodyus ng gatas at mga buntis sa mga kalabaw na ipinamahagi. Inaasahang gagatasan ito ng mga benepisyaryo para mapakinabangan nila ang mga ganansiyang hatid ng gatasang kalabaw.
