Pagsasanay sa pagpapataas ng lahi ng kalabaw Jul 2020 CaraBalitaan VBAIT,pagpapataas ,Pagsasanay ,kalabaw,DA-PCC sa CSU By AILEEN BULUSAN DA-PCC sa CSU — Upang mas lalo pang mapaigting ang pagpaparami ng mga kalabaw na may magandang lahi, nagsasagawa ang Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center sa Cagayan State University (CSU) ng pagsasanay sa “Artificial Insemination (AI) and Pregnancy Diagnosis (PD) in Large Ruminants Under COVID-19 Crisis”. Notice: Undefined variable: imgDesc in C:\laragon\www\post.php on line 114 Alinsunod sa mga safety protocols na dulot ng pandemya, anim na kalahok lamang ang pinayagang sumali sa pagsasanay mula Hulyo 5 hanggang Agosto 3. Upang maiwasan ang paglabag sa mga regulasyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), ginawa ng DA-PCC sa CSU ang istratehiyang Adopt a Trainee Scheme (ATS). Ito ay ideya ni dating DA-PCC sa CSU Center Director Franklin Rellin. Sa ATS, ginagabayan ng isang VBAIT ang isang trainee bilang mentor sa practicum o aktuwal na pagsasagawa ng AI at PD sa loob ng 23 araw. Kabilang sa mga aktibidad ang koordinasyon at pakikipag-usap sa LGUs sa mga lugar kung saan isasagawa ang AI, PD, follow-up AI, 21-days observation at PD sa lahat ng babaing kalabaw na kanilang na-AI pagkalipas ng tatlong buwan. Ang practicum ang ikalawang hakbang sa sistema sa ATS. Bago ito isagawa, nagkakaroon muna ng lecture at discussion na tumatagal ng pitong araw. Ilan sa mga tinatalakay ay AI as a Business, Record and Record Keeping, Best AI Practices at iba pang paksang may kinalaman sa PD at sa AI. Sa pagtatapos naman ng ATS, nagkakaroon ng pagsusuri o pagtaya ng kaalaman at kakayahan ng mga kalahok. Dito nagbibigay ang DA-PCC AI Coordinator ng pagsubok na oral, written, at practicum. Iginagawad ang Certificate of Attendance sa mga nakapasa.Habang nakatatanggap sila ng karagdagang Certificate of Completion pagkaraang makapag-inseminate at makapag-PD ng 50 kalabaw. Isa ang AI sa mga pangunahing inistyatiba ng DA-PCC sa programa nitong genetic improvement ng mga kalabaw sa bansa. Taun-taon ay nagsasagawa ang ahensiya ng pagsasanay para sa mga nais maging VBAIT at LGU AI technicians. Ito ay upang dumami pa ang bilang ng mga guya at makakuha ng mas maraming gatas na makapagdadagdag ng ani at kita ng mga magsasaka lalo na sa panahon ng krisis. Layunin sa inisyatiba na magkaroon ng karagdagang village-based AI technicians (VBAIT) at mapadami pang lalo ang local government unit (LGU) na makakaugnay ng DA-PCC sa pasasagawa ng AI sa rehiyon II.
