Pagsasanay sa AI, PD isinagawa sa Mindanao Jul 2020 CaraBalitaan AI, PD, DA-PCC sa USM By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez DA-PCC sa USM — Anim na mga bagong artificial insemination (AI) technician ang magiging katuwang na ng Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) sa University of Southern Mindanao (USM) sa pagsusulong ng Carabao Upgrading Program (CUP) ng ahensiya. Notice: Undefined variable: imgDesc in C:\laragon\www\post.php on line 114 Sila ang mga matagumpay na nagsipagtapos ng 30 araw na pagsasanay sa Basic AI and Pregnancy Diagnosis (PD) noong Hunyo ¬6 hanggang Agosto 4. Ang mga nagsilahok ay mula sa LGU- Aleosan, LGU- Kabacan, Canahay Dairy Farmer Association, Surallah , D&L Farm, Mlang , at DA-PCC. “Noong una, naging mahirap para sa akin ang pagsasanay na ito. Talagang masusubok ang kakayahan mo mula sa time management hanggang sa pagtiyak na maisasagawa ang serbisyo para sa magsasakang magiging kliyente namin,” ani Sharon Mae Serot ng LGU-Aleosan. Ayon naman kay Junrey Badi ng LGU-Kabacan, naging matagumpay ang paghasa sa kanila ng PCC sa USM dahil sa nabahagian sila ng teknikal na kaalaman gaya ng estrus synchronization, in vitro, at in situ fertilization. Binigyan din ng pagkakataon ang mga nagsisipagsanay na makipag-usap sa ilang magkakalabaw hinggil sa AI na nagpalawak pang lalo ng kanilang kaalaman sa nasabing gawain. “Kung sa panahon ngayon ng pandemya ay may tinatawag tayong frontliners upang masugpo ang COVID-19, kayo naman ay frontliners sa pagpapalakas at pagpapaigting ng CUP sa inyong mga lokalidad,” ani DA-PCC sa USM Center Director Benjamin John Basilio. Ayon naman kay DA-PCC sa USM AI and Training Coordinator Jeffrey Rabanal, dahil sa krisis pangkalausugan na kinakaharap ngayon, naging mas madali ang pagsasanay dahil mas natutukan ang mga ito lalo’t kakaunti ang bilang ng kalahok. Ang CUP ng DA-PCC ay nakatuon sa pagpapataas ng lahi ng kalabaw upang mas mapakinabangan ito ng mga magsasaka sa kanilang kabuhayan. Ayon kay Director Basilio, may nakatakdang kahalintulad na pagsasanay mula Setyembre 20 hanggang Oktubre 27 ngayong taon.
