Cecilia Irang & Mary Antonette Andarza DA-PCC sa WVSU — Nagsagawa ang DA-PCC sa West Visayas State University (DA-PCC sa WVSU), katuwang ang DA-Philippine Coconut Authority (DA-PCA) Region VI, ng farmers’ orientation noong Pebrero 19, kung saan nagpamahagi rin ang mga ito ng 20 kalabaw, farm tools, at supplies sa mga piling benepisyaryo. Layon ng CCDP na mabigyan ng karagdagang mapagkakakitaan ang magniniyog sa pamamagitan ng kabuhayang hatid ng gatasang kalabaw. Layunin din nitong masiguro ang palagiang pagkakaroon ng gatas bilang suporta sa RA 11037 o “Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act” na kasalukuyang ipinatutupad ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Ang nasabing aktibidad ay isa sa mga direktiba na itinataguyod ng Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform na nakaangkla sa kabuhayang salig sa paggagatas ng kalabaw at pagniniyog. Sabay-sabay na ginanap ang turn-over ceremonies sa Brgy. Feliciano, Balete, Aklan at Brgy. Calimbajan, Makato, Aklan, gayundin ang farmers’ orientation tungkol sa Coconut-Carabao Development Project (CCDP). Pinangunahan nina DA-PCC sa WVSU Center Director Arn Granada, DA-PCA Region VI Regional Manager III Jeffrey Delos Reyes, Aklan Vice Governor Hon. Reynaldo Quimpo, at Balete Municipal Mayor Hon. Dexter Calizo ang turn-over ceremony. Sa kaniyang pambungad na mensahe, binigyang-pagkilala ni Director Arn Granada ang mga pagsisikap ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Aklan at ng DA-PCA Region VI para sa pagsisimula ng nasabing proyekto. Nagkaroon din ng Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa implementasyon ng CCDP sa Second Congressional District ng Aklan na nilagdaan nina Cong. Teodorico Haresco Jr., partner LGU-Makato, Aklan, at Calimbajan Mainuswagon Panimaeay Consumers Cooperative (CMPCC). Layon ng CCDP na mabigyan ng karagdagang mapagkakakitaan ang magniniyog sa pamamagitan ng kabuhayang hatid ng gatasang kalabaw. Layunin din nitong masiguro ang palagiang pagkakaroon ng gatas bilang suporta sa RA 11037 o “Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act” na kasalukuyang ipinatutupad ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
