Mahigit 18k estudyante sa Bukidnon makikinabang sa milk feeding Feb 2021 CaraBalitaan Philippine Carabao Center, Department of Agriculture, Milk Feeding, DepEd By Ma. Cecilia Irang & Jeson Candole DA-PCC sa CMU — Nasa kabuuang 18,507 na mga batang kulang sa nutrisyon sa Kindergarten hanggang Grade 6 ang inaasahang makikinabang sa 21-day milk feeding project sa mga piling bayan sa Bukidnon, na magsisimula sa Marso. Makatatanggap ang bawa’t benepisyaryo ng 200 ml toned carabao’s milk araw-araw sa loob ng 21 feeding days. Nasa kabuuang Php7,135,558.92 ang nakalaang pondo para sa nasabing programa, na isasagawa sa 25 eskwelahan sa mga munisipalidad ng Manolo Fortich, Lantapan, Sumilao, Cabanglasan, Impasug-ong, Kisolon, Don Carlos, Damulog, at Kadingilan. Ang nasabing inisyatiba ay magiging posible sa paglalagda ng isang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng DA-PCC sa Central Mindanao University (DA-PCC sa CMU), Department of Education-Division ng Bukidnon, at Muleta Side Buffalo Association (MUSBUDA) upang maipatupad ang School-based Milk Feeding Program (SBFP), na nakatakdang simulan noong 2020 nguni’t naantala dahil sa pandemya. Makatatanggap ang bawa’t benepisyaryo ng 200 ml toned carabao’s milk araw-araw sa loob ng 21 feeding days. Nasa kabuuang Php7,135,558.92 ang nakalaang pondo para sa nasabing programa, na isasagawa sa 25 eskwelahan sa mga munisipalidad ng Manolo Fortich, Lantapan, Sumilao, Cabanglasan, Impasug-ong, Kisolon, Don Carlos, Damulog, at Kadingilan. Pinangunahan nina DA-PCC sa CMU Center Director Dr. Lowell Paraguas, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Randolph Tortola, School Division Nurse Juniel Rey Abadiano, at MUSBUDA President Carlo Magno Abellanosa, ang paglalagda sa MOA na ginanap sa Dairy Box Bukidnon, Don Carlos, Bukidnon noong Pebrero 13. Ayon kay Dir. Paraguas, ang kasunduang ito ay direktang pagsuporta sa Republic Act 11037 Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act, na naglalayong matugunan ang malnutrisyon sa mga mag-aaral sa public day care, kindergarten at elementarya sa buong bansa. Dagdag pa niya, ang inisyatibang ito ay hindi lamang makatutulong sa mga batang kulang sa nutrisyon bagkus ay magbubukas din ng oportunidad para magkaroon ng mapagkakakitaan ang mga kooperatiba at asosasyon ng maggagatas. Nagpapasalamat naman si Abellanosa sa patuloy na suportang natatanggap ng kanilang asosasyon mula sa DA-PCC at sa pagiging tapat sa mandato nitong makatulong sa mga magkakalabaw. Aniya, hindi lamang nakatutulong ang ahensya sa pagpapabuti ng pamumuhay ng mga magkakalabaw na kagaya nila bagkus ay sa pagpapataas din ng nutrisyon sa kanilang komunidad dahil sa patuloy na pagsusulong nito ng milk feeding sa Bukidnon.
