Sumisibol na CCDP sa Region XII Oct 2021 CaraBalitaan CBIN, Bull Entrustment, CBED, ALAB-KARBAWAN By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez DA-PCC sa USM—Kasabay ng patuloy na pagyabong ng Carabao-based Business Improvement Net-work (CBIN) sa buong bansa, nagsisimula na rin ang tuluy-tuloy na pag-usad ng Coconut-Carabao De-velopment Project o CCDP sa Region XII kasunod ng paunang pamamahagi ng 24 na mestisang ga-tasang kalabaw sa South Cotabato. Bull Entrustment sa mga Malaya Integrated Farmers Association sa Banga, Buto Small Coconut Farmers Organization sa Tampakan, at ang Tupi Integrated Agricultural Cooperative (TIAC) sa Tupi ng Region XII. Ang CCDP, katulad ng CBIN na may pinatanyag na pangalang ALAB-Karbawan, ay proyektong pinondohan ng opisina ng Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food and Agrarian Reform na pinamumunuan ni Senator Cynthia Villar. Ito ay proyektong magkatulong na itataguyod ng DA-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) at DA-Philippine Coconut Authority (DA-PCA). Ang 10-milyong pisong proyekto ay naglalayong mapaangat ang kabuhayan ng mga magniniyog sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng dagdag kitang dulot ng negosyong salig sa gatasang kalabaw. Sa Region XII, dalawang asosasyon at isang kooperatiba ang magiging kalahok sa CCDP. Ito ang Malaya Integrated Farmers Association sa Banga, Buto Small Coconut Farmers Organization sa Tampakan, at ang Tupi Integrated Agricultural Cooperative (TIAC) sa Tupi. Ang dalawang asosasyong nabanggit ang nakatanggap ng naunang 24 na mestisang kalabaw sa kabuuang 34 na kalabaw. Sila ang magsisilbing pangunahing magpoprodyus ng gatas. Upang mabuo naman ang dairy value chain ng proyekto, ang TIAC naman ang magsisilbing processing at marketing arm nito. “Tiyak na magiging sagana sa gatas ng kalabaw hindi lang ang probinsya ng South Cotabato kundi maging ang buong SOCKSARGEN dahil may CBIN na, may CCDP pa. Kaakibat ng malaking proyektong ito ay ang mabigat ding hamon para sa ating lahat. Tara at sabay-sabay nating patunayan na totoong ‘Sa dairy, ang kita ay daily!,” ani DA-Philippine Carabao Center sa USM Center Director Benjamin John Basilio. Sa mensahe naman nina Senator Villar at DA-PCA administrator Benjamin Madrigal, Jr., sinabi nilang ang proyektong ito ay inaasahang maglulunsad ng mas masaganang paggagatasan sa bansa. “Simula pa noong 2019, ang Senate Committee on Agriculture ay naglalaan na ng pondo para isulong ang dairy industry sa bansa. Malaking hamon at oportunidad ang maibibigay ng proyektong ito para sa lahat ng maggagatas,” ani Senator Villar. Samantala, dumalo rin sa entrustment ceremony ang iba’t ibang mga kabalikat sa proyektong CCDP tulad nina PCIC-XI OIC Regional Manager Rosalina Grabulan, kinatawan mula sa Office of Sen. Cynthia Villar na si Arthur Go, DA-PCA CCDP focal person Jenycar Gallego, representatives mula South Cotabato Provincial Veterinary Office, at Municipal Agriculture Office ng Tampakan at Banga. Ang PCC at PCA, parehong attached agencies ng Department of Agriculture, ay ang nangunguna sa paglulunsad ng carabao-based enterprise para sa mga magniniyog sa Pilipinas.
