Medrano together with DA-Philippine Carabao Center OIC-Executive Director Dr. Ronnie D. Domingo, National Dairy Authority OIC Administrator Dr. Farrel Magtoto, and other NLP officials visited the manure production facility of Marcela Farms in Ubay, Bohol. DA livestock officials visit Manure Production Facility Today, DA Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. William C. Medrano together with DA-Philippine Carabao Center OIC-Executive Director Dr. Ronnie D. Domingo, National Dairy Authority OIC Administrator Dr. Farrel Magtoto, and other NLP officials visited the manure production facility of Marcela Farms in Ubay, Bohol. Said facility produces about 30 tons of processed chicken manure every day. According to Arnel Terec, staff of Marcela farms, the manure processing facility produces more than the demand of the province and currently, they are exporting the fermented manure to Mindanao as fertilizer for high value crops. Fermented chicken manures are also being used by DA-PCC at Ubay Stock Farm to fertilize its improved forage. Fermented chicken manure is a high-quality organic fertilizer. Aside from organic matter, it also contains high nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
