Unang patak ng gatas ng kalabaw dahil sa CCDP sa South Cotabato Apr 2023 ALAB Karbawan Unang patak ng gatas ng kalabaw dahil sa CCDP sa South Cotabato By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez Nag-uumapaw na saya at pag-asa ang naramdaman ni Lourie Lee Campaner, miyembro ng Small Coconut Farmers Association (SCFA) ng Tamapakan, South Cotabato, matapos masaksihan ang pagpatak ng sariwang gatas mula sa kanyang inaalagang mestisang kalabaw. Unang patak ng gatas ng kalabaw dahil sa CCDP sa South Cotabato Ang pamilya ni Lourie Lee ang kauna-unahang carapreneurs mula sa Coconut-Carabao Development Project (CCDP) sa South Cotabato na nakasaksi ng pag-asang dulot ng bawa’t patak ng gatas. Sa tulong ng DA-PCC sa University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC sa USM) at ng Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) sa Region XII, mga pangunahing ahensya na nagsusulong sa programang CCDP, inaasahang bubuhos ang gatas ‘di lamang sa Tampakan kundi maging sa Malaya Integrated Farmers Assosiation (MIFA) ng Banga na siyang magsisilbing production site ng Tupi Integrated Agiculture Cooperative (TIAC). Ang SCFA, MIFA, at TIAC ay ang mga pangunahing tagapagtaguyod ng nasabing proyekto sa probinsya ng South Cotabato. Inilahad ni DA-PCC sa USM Center Director Benjamin John C. Basilio na ang CCDP ay isang “complete value chain project”. Kinapapalooban ito ng pamamahagi ng mestisang kalabaw, pagpapatayo ng processing facility at marketing outlet, pagbibigay ng pagsasanay para sa bawa’t value chain players, at pamamahala hanggang sa pagtatasa ng proyekto. “Ang CCDP ay isang proyektong pinondohan ng opinisina ng Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food, and Agrarian Reform sa pamumuno ni chairperson Senator Cynthia A. Villar, na may layuning mapaunlad ang pamumuhay ng mga magniniyog sa Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng dagdag kitang mula sa gatasang kalabaw,” ani Director Basilio. Sa ngayon, may pag-asang tinatanaw ng mga carapreneurs ang kanilang mga minimithing gawain para sa pagpapalawak ng merkado para sa produktong gawa sa gatas, pakikilahok sa milk feeding program, at pageenganyo sa iba pang mga magsasaka na makilahok sa negosyong salig sa kalabaw.
