Sarangani koop para sa maalab na pagkakalabawan Apr 2023 ALAB Karbawan Dairy Box By Chrissalyn Marcelo & Ronaline Canute Nakatanggap ang Pangi Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PAMULCO) ng kumpletong dairy enterprise package mula sa Department of Agriculture - Philippine Carabao Center sa University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC sa USM) noong Oktubre 5 sa Brgy. Maitum, Pangi, Sarangani Province sa pamamagitan ng Carabao-based Business Improvement Network (CBIN) project sa ilalim ng Accelerating Livelihood Assets Buildup (ALAB) Karbawan ng DA-PCC. Sarangani koop para sa maalab na pagkakalabawan Ang proyekto ay binubuo ng mga gatasang hayop at pasilidad na maaaring gamitin para sa produksyon at marketing ng mga carabao-based products. Kabilang dito ang 35 na dairy buffaloes (34 na babae at 1 bull); at Dairy Box processing plant at marketing outlet, na ipinagkaloob sa PAMULCO sa pamamagitan ng isang turn over ceremony. Sa kanyang mensahe, hinikayat ni DA-PCC Executive Director Dr. Liza Battad ang mga miyembro ng kooperatiba na ituring ang kanilang mga sarili bilang "proud carapreneurs" o "negosyante" at sila ay magiging milyonaryo sa pagnenegosyong salig sa kalabaw balang-araw. Ayon naman kay DA-PCC at USM Center Director Benjamin John Basilio, magsisilbi ang ahensya bilang daluyan ng blessings para marating ng PAMULCO ang mga pangarap nito. “Inaasahan namin na sa pamamagitan ng proyektong ito ay aapaw ang gatas sa bayan ng Maitum. Kapag dumating ang oras na iyon, maaari ninyo kaming imbitahan muli kasama ang ating Executive Director Dr. Liza Battad para tulungan kayong magbilang ng pera,” pagbibiro at masayang dagdag pa ni Basilio. Samantala, nagbigay din ng kanyang mensahe si Senator Cynthia Villar sa PAMULCO sa pamamagitan ng isang video. Sinabi niya na ang dairy enterprise bilang isa pang income generating venture ay tutugon sa matinding pangangailangan para sa karagdagang pagkukunan ng kita ng mga magsasaka. Tumugon si PAMULCO Chairperson Melecio Ubongen sa ngalan ng kanyang kooperatiba na lubos silang nagpapasalamat sa DA-PCC, kay Senator Villar, at mga lokal at provincial government ng Maitum at Sarangani sa pagbibigay sa kanila ng dairy enterprise package. Sa kanyang talumpati, ipinangako niya na susustentuhan ng kanilang kooperatiba ang proyekto upang makapagbalita ng mga progresibong resulta sa hinaharap. Buong-buo ang suporta ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Maitum at Sarangani na nangakong magbibigay ng technical at marketing assistance sa kooperatiba. Ang turnover ceremony ay dinaluhan nina Maitum Municipal Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit, Municipal Agriculturist Noel Naungayan, Board Member Arnold Abequibel (Representative of Sarangani Governor Rogelio Pacquiao) Sarangani Committee on Agriculture and Food Chairperson James Reganit, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Bernard Cababat, Provincial Agriculturist Jonathan Duhay at Councilor Leah Patrimonio.
