By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez DA-PCC sa USMMas lalawak pa ang aabutin ng pananaliksik sa pagkakalabawan sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) matapos mapabilang ang DAPhilippine Carabao Center sa University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC sa USM) sa Bangsamoro AgriFishery Research, Development, and Extension Network (BAFRDEN). “Ang bagong samahan na nilahukan ng DA-PCC ay magbibigay daan upang magbukas pa ng pinto ng oportunidad para sa mga kapatid nating Muslim. Sa pamamagitan nito, marami pang magsasaka ang lalahok at makikinabang sa mga serbisyo at programa ng DAPCC,” saad ni Balbuena. Ito ay matapos ang paglagda ng Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ng DA-PCC sa USM, kasama ang Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform- BARMM (MAFAR-BARMM), mga partner agencies, at State Universities and Colleges sa Bangsamoro Region noong Agosto 16 sa Davao City. Layunin ng naturang MOU ang magkaroon ng samahan na syang magtataguyod ng isang matibay na ugnayan sa sekta ng agrikultura at pangingisda at upang maihatid ang mga inisyatibong naka angkla sa programang Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) para sa Bangsamoro. Nagpahayag naman ng mensahe si MAFAR-BARMM Minister Mohammad Swaib Yacob kaugnay sa pagbuo ng BAFRDEN. Ayon sa kanya, ang agrikultura ay hindi lang sekta ng ekonomiya kundi isang haligi na siyang responsable sa pag-unlad ng lipunan. Labis naman ang pasasalamat ni DA-PCC sa USM Center Director Benjamin John C. Basilio sa naging hakbang ng MAFARBARRM. Aniya, mas madaling maiihatid ang mga serbisyong pagkakalabawan sa mga komunidad sa Bangsamoro. “Kami sa DA-PCC ay nangangakong maging bukas sa pagbibigay ng kaalaman o teknolohiya, at magbibigay ng mga mekanismong makatutulong sa paglago ng samahan,” saad ni Director Basilio. Naging positibo rin ang pananaw ni DA-PCC at USM Research Coordinator Rheo Ryan P. Balbuena sa maaring maidudulot ng BAFRDEN sa mga magsasaka ng Bangsamoro Region. “Ang bagong samahan na nilahukan ng DA-PCC ay magbibigay daan upang magbukas pa ng pinto ng oportunidad para sa mga kapatid nating Muslim.
