Pagbabalangkas sa serbisyong AI sa Timog, Gitnang Mindanao at BARMM, isinagawa Feb 2024 None VBAIT By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez Makabago at angkop na pamamaraan sa pagsasagawa ng artificial insemination (AI) ang ilan sa mga naging sentrong paksa sa matagumpay na pagdaraos ng taunang AI forum ng DA-Philippine Carabao Center sa University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC at USM). Pagbabalangkas sa serbisyong AI sa Timog, Gitnang Mindanao at BARMM, isinagawa Mahigit 100 na mga AI technicians mula sa Region XI, Region XII, at Bangsamoro Autnomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ang nakilahok sa naturang aktibidad. “Tayo ay nagtipon-tipon hindi para punahin ang ating mga unmet targets. Ang layunin ng ating aktibidad ay upang makapagbigay ng konkretong estratehiya upang mas mapadali at mapalakas natin ang serbisyong AI sa ating nasasakupan,” saad ni DA-PCC at USM Center Director Geoffray R. Atok. Nagpaabot naman ng mensahe si USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia na ibinahagi ng kanyang representative na si USM Executive Assistant Bryan Bretaña. “The university serves as a hub of knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and government agencies to address challenges and innovative solutions in AI. This multidisciplinary research not only enriches academic understanding but also translates into practical applications, elevating the effectiveness and impact of AI in livestock breeding program,” wika ni Bretaña. Samantala, binigyang pasasalamat naman ni DA-PCC at USM AI Coordinator Jeffrey A. Rabanal ang pagsisikap ng bawa’t AI technician na naging aktibong kabalikat ng DA-PCC sa pagpaparami ng kalabaw sa rehiyon. Dumalo at nagbigay-ulat din sina Greg Lapura ng National Dairy Authority, Kirby Joy S. Garcia ng DA-RFO-XII, Dr. Karl Laurence M. Pineda ng DA-RFO-XI, at Saban Belongan ng MAFAR-Maguindanao. “Sa patuloy na pagsasagawa natin ng AI, mas makikita natin ang ating mga dapat bigyang-pansin na issues. Sa ating rehiyon, masasakatuparan na muli ang pagbibigay ng libreng liquid nitrogen sa mga AI technician ng Region XI,” saad ni regional AI coordinator Pineda. Masaya ring ibinahagi ni Center Director Atok ang planong pagpapatayo ng LN2 plant sa center upang masiguro ang pagpreserba ng magandang semilya at mapataas ang conception rate ng AI na magreresulta sa mas maraming kalabaw sa rehiyon.
