MOA ng programang kalabaw para sa DSWD-SLP, isinulong sa Pangasinan Feb 2024 None DSWD-SLP By Maximo Peralta Jr. Binalangkas ang Memorandum of Agreement para sa Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) sa ginanap na inisyal na pagpupulong ng DA-Philippine Carabao Center sa Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DA-PCC sa DMMMSU), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Bani, Pangasinan, at iba pang mga katuwang na ahensya sa nasabing bayan noong Pebrero 20, 2024. MOA ng programang kalabaw para sa DSWD-SLP, isinulong sa Pangasinan Ayon kay Paul Andrew Texon, head of operations ng DA-PCC sa DMMMSU, ipinangako ng regional center ang mga posibleng interbasyon na higit na makatutulong sa proyekto. “Nilagay natin sa MOA ‘yong mga pwede nating counterpart katulad ng training on dairy buffalo management, milk handling and processing, at AI,” saad niya. Bukod sa pondo na manggagaling sa DSWD para sa mga alagang kalabaw, mayroon ding private investor na mamumuhunan para sa karagdagang bilang ng mga hayop at ng 13 ektarya ng lupa na gagamitin para sa housing facility at pasture area ng mga kalabaw. Sa kabilang dako, maglalaan naman ang bayan ng Bani sa pangunguna ni Mayor Facundo Palafox Jr. ng pondo para sa pagpapatayo ng kulungan para sa mga kalabaw. Ang naturang MOA ay bilang bahagi ng proyektong Gatasang Kalabaw Kontra Kagutuman at Kahirapan (GK3K) ng DSWD kung saan katuwang nito ang DA-PCC upang ihanda ang mga benepisyaryo sa larangan ng pagkakalabawan. Ang mga napiling benepisyaryo ay mahigit 200 na miyembro ng 4Ps. Kasama sa mga dumalo sa nasabing pagpupulong ay ang councilor ng bayan, chair of social welfare and tourism, representatives ng LGU-MAO-MSWD-Bani, DSWD-Field Office 1, Department of Trade and Industry, Cooperative Development Authority, at Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 1.
