The DA-Philippine Carabao Center at Central Luzon State University (DA-PCC at CLSU) officially turned over the first-ever Dairy Box in Bulacan to the Mulawin Bata Irrigators Association Inc. (MBIA) at Dona Remedios Trinidad Highway, Baliwag, Bulacan, today, December 10, 2024.

Dr. Ericson N. Dela Cruz, center director of PCC at CLSU, highlighted that all provinces in Region 3 now have their own Dairy Boxes, made possible through the budget allocated by Sen. Cynthia Villar. He encouraged the MBIA cooperative to maximize the resources provided to them and expressed his hope that the first multiplier farm accredited by the PCC will be established in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Dr. Emmanuel Francisco, representing provincial veterinarian of Bulacan, Voltaire Basina, commended DA-PCC for implementing programs designed to support dairy farmers. He encouraged the MBIA to fully utilize the Dairy Box provided and urged PCC at CLSU to continue offering assistance to farmers in Bulacan.

Gil David, livestock program coordinator and representative of Regional Executive Director Dr. Eduardo Lapuz, emphasized that this initiative will greatly benefit carapreneurs, highlighting the significant income from carabao milk.

Dr. Reinalyn Quinaquin, Veterinarian I of the City Agriculture Office, shared her experiences during the construction of the Dairy Box and expressed her joy and excitement for Baliwag as its recipient. She noted that the addition of more carabaos will not only benefit Baliwag but also provide increased income opportunities for the beneficiaries.

In a video message delivered by Mabel Esguerra on behalf of Sen. Cynthia Villar, it was stated that the Dairy Box will enable farmers to market their dairy products, thereby improving their livelihoods.

Villar said.

Erwin Malacca, representing the MBIA cooperative, expressed his gratitude for being entrusted with the carabao and the Dairy Box. He also encouraged his fellow farmers to take good care of the carabaos, as a reliable source of income.

Elenita Hernandez from the Municipal Agriculture Office reflected on the journey leading up to the Dairy Box turnover. She expressed her hope for everyone’s cooperation to ensure its success.
