Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa Dairy Box in Davao Region continues, opens new stop in Davao de Oro

Through the convergence effort of the DA-Philippine Carabao Center at University of Southern Mindanao (DA-PCC at USM), DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance-Region XI, and Linoan Farmers Integrated Cooperative (LIFICO), the 2nd Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) sa Dairy Box in Davao Region officially opened its doors to the public last April 30 at Brgy. Linoan, Montevista, Davao de Oro.

The launching of KNP in Davao de Oro featured fresh farm produce and locally made products from carabao's milk, including fresh buffalo’s milk, flavored milk, ice cream, and other agricultural products such as coco pretzels, oyster mushrooms, onions, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, potatoes, and a variety of fruits.

For Juvy Pregon, Market Specialist II and a representative from the Provincial Agriculturist Office, the KNP sa Dairy Box is more than just a display of farm products. It helps local farmers nationwide manage their extra produce by serving as a medium for direct transactions.

"Itong Kadiwa ng Pangulo ay malaking tulong talaga lalo na sa mga farmers natin sa Pilipinas. Actually, itong mga onions natin galing pa sa Luzon, so dineliver siya rito kasi hindi naman siya napakikinabangan doon sa dami ng mga farm produce nila. So, because of Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa Dairy Box, mas napapalapit natin 'yong mga farm produce from highlands papunta dito sa lowland lalo na sa Linoan," Pregon said.

Meanwhile, DA-PCC at USM Center Director Geoffray R. Atok expressed his gratitude for the continued collaboration between DA-PCC and other agencies, highlighting the importance of having common goals towards the development of local farmers and business sectors.

"I am so grateful for this opportunity because I witnessed a special event, the opening of the 2nd Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa Dairy Box here in Davao Region. This would not be possible without your all-out support, most especially from different agencies. That's why we are very blessed to have this common goal. Ang paglambo sa tanan nga involved sa atoang mga programs and services," Atok added.

The Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa Dairy Box in the Davao Region was first launched in Matanao, Davao del Sur, and is at the core of the food security agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which aims to directly connect local farmers and consumers without having middlemen involved in the supply chain to ensure a more inclusive growth in the agriculture sector.
