First Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa Dairy Box in Region II opens in Orani, Bataan

The DA-Philippine Carabao Center at Central Luzon State University (PCC at CLSU), together with the DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service and Tapulao Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TMPC), spearheaded the launching of the first Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) sa Dairy Box at the Orani Dairy Box, Brgy. Mulawin, Orani, Bataan on July 17, 2025.

The KNP sa Dairy Box is the first Kadiwa store launched in Region III. It offers a mix of 60% dairy products and 40% other agricultural goods. Conveniently accessible along the highway, it provides farmers with an alternative market where they can sell their products directly.

Regional Technical Director for Special Concerns Engr. Juanito Dela Cruz said DA Region III is committed to supporting farmers and cooperatives. He emphasized the importance of helping vulnerable sectors such as solo parents and pregnant women. He added that organizing and clustering these groups would be more effective, stressing that no one should be left behind.

Apolinario Salazar Jr., head of Administration and Finance, emphasized that the DA-PCC has already extended its support and will continue to do so until the program reaches its goals. He added that they are committed to supporting any initiative taken by the cooperative.

OIC-Deputy Executive Director of DA-PCC Dr. Edwin Atabay expressed his gratitude for the continuous support provided to DA-PCC and its programs, especially the KNP sa Dairy Box. Dr. Atabay noted that while the program focuses on dairy, it also expands from meat and leather products. He also congratulated the cooperative, its manager, and the farmers for their role in making the project viable, stressing that unity is crucial for its sustainability and growth, not just in production but also in profitability.

Congressman Hon. Atty. Tony Roman expressed his support for the launch of the first Kadiwa store, highlighting its role in promoting food security and helping farmers sell directly to consumers. He also congratulated everyone involved in the project.

Tony Arizapa, representing Hon. Mayor Antonio Jon Arizapa, said that it is an honor to be part of the Kadiwa launch in the Municipality of Orani. She emphasized that providing affordable rice and food is an important step for the community.

Jennelyn Ibale, Market Specialist II of DA Region III, explained that the partnership between the DA and DA-PCC expands the Dairy Box to include not just dairy, but other agricultural products as well. Currently, there are 19 operational Kadiwa stores and center in Region III.

In response, Pilipino Victor Cruz, Chairperson of TMPC, said that it is a great honor for their cooperative to be part of the program. “Isang karangalan para sa aming kooperatiba na mapabilang sa programang ito na layuning palakasin ang produksyon ng gulay, gatas, bigas, at prutas, at maitaguyod ang kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka at maggagatas. Kami po ay nangangakong magpapatuloy sa pagbibigay ng de-kalidad na produkto,” he said.
