Carapreneurs, nakilahok sa ‘Lakas sa Gatas’ Campaign ng DepEd Davao Region Jul 2025 None School-based Feeding Program By Rodolfo Jr. Valdez Mas matatag at malawak na merkado para sa gatas ng mga magkakalabaw sa Davao Region ang inaasahan ngayon ng mga carapreneurs, kasunod ng paglulunsad ng Department of Education (DepEd) Region XI sa pilot implementation ng “Lakas sa Gatas!”—isang kampanya sa milk supplementation na bahagi ng pinalawak na School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP). Mas matatag at malawak na merkado para sa gatas ng mga magkakalabaw sa Davao Region ang inaasahan ngayon ng mga carapreneurs, kasunod ng paglulunsad ng Department of Education (DepEd) Region XI sa pilot implementation ng “Lakas sa Gatas!”—isang kampanya sa milk supplementation na bahagi ng pinalawak na School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP). Layunin ng kampanya, na inilunsad noong Hulyo 18 sa Rizal Elementary School sa Panabo City, na hikayatin ang araw-araw na pag-inom ng gatas ng mga mag-aaral sa mga pampublikong paaralan, lalo na ng mga batang kulang sa nutrisyon. "Ang Lakas sa Gatas ay higit pa sa isang programang pang-nutrisyon—isa itong pangakong nagpapakita na ang mga lokal na solusyon ay maaaring magbunga ng malawakang epekto, hindi lamang sa nutrisyon kundi maging sa kabuhayan ng mga lokal na magsasakang nagsu-supply ng gatas para sa mga batang nangangailangan," pahayag ni DA-Philippine Carabao Center at USM Center Director Dr. Geoffray R. Atok. Batay sa datos para sa School Year 2024–2025, mahigit 13,000 mag-aaral sa Rehiyon ng Davao ang nakatanggap ng gatas ng kalabaw sa ilalim ng SBFP ng DepEd. Katumbas ito ng mahigit ₱12 milyong kita para sa mga magkakalabaw. “Bilang mga nag-aalaga ng kalabaw, natutuwa talaga kami kasi lumalaki na ang demand sa gatas namin. Dati sa Dairy Box lang kami nakabebenta, pero ngayon maaari na rin sa mga canteen ng paaralan. Malaking tulong ito para mas mapatatag ang aming kabuhayan at mas lumawak pa ang aming merkado,” pagbabahagi ni Juvy Redor, Dairy Box in-charge ng Linoan Integrated Farmers Cooperative, Montevista, Davao de Oro. Sa temang “Talino at Gilas, Tiyak Lalabas, Panalo ang Batang may Sapat na Gatas,” binibigyang-diin ng programa ang mahalagang papel ng gatas sa malusog ba isipan at pangangatawan. “The wellness of people of the country starts with the wellness of learners. We need to actively promote milk drinking every day”, saad ni Asst. Regional Director Rebonfamil R. Baguio, kinatawan ni Regional Director Allan G. Farnazo Ayon sa DepEd, magiging regular na gawain ng DepEd ang “Lakas sa Gatas” bilang pangunahing bahagi ng learner welfare programs nito na layong matugunan ang kakulangan sa nutrisyon ng mga batang mag-aaral.
