More than 500 undernourished children have started to benefit from a milk feeding program in Ilocos Norte, which will run for 120 days from April 27 to August 25.
Some 5,130 undernourished children are expected to benefit from the recently launched provincewide community milk feeding program in Bohol.
Aside from alleviating malnutrition among children, market for dairy farmers’ produce was also guaranteed under the joint undertaking of the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (DA-PCAF), DA-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC), and Nueva Ecija Federation of Dairy Carabao Cooperatives (NEFEDCCO).
As an alternative to the lack of marketing outlets for dairy products due to the prevailing lockdown, the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) launched the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita (Kadiwa) Buffalo Milk on Wheels (BMW). The mobile store ensures the availability and accessibility of buffalo’s milk to more consumers while serving as a marketing facility for the dairy farmers’ produce.
